If you’re a school teacher, you probably need more money. Let’s face the facts…most teachers don’t earn enough. Most teachers love their jobs, but many just can’t make ends meet. That adds a lot of stress to an already stressful job. And to make things worse, many school districts are cutting teacher salaries or positions as well as increasing the cost of medical insurance.
If you can’t make ends meet, you either have to cut your expenses, make more money, or do both. Most teachers I know have already cut their expenses as much as they can without sacrificing the standard of living they wish to have. You could take a second job, like a friend of mine has done. Unfortunately, he works a ten-hour workday, and then he starts his second job in the evenings. He lives on four hours of sleep a night. I don’t really understand how he can do that, but it works for him. He has sacrificed having a personal life though. In my humble opinion, that’s not a good way to live.
I found something that anyone can do, and it really helps to bring in extra money. Please stick with me to the end. I promise it will be worth it. If you’re not a teacher, don’t worry, the information listed below will help anyone make more money.
My Story
Many teachers have a lot of debt. On a teacher’s salary, it takes a long time to pay things off without any extra income. That has been my primary motivation to search for ways to bring in more money while still allowing me to teach. I’ve found what I was looking for. It’s affiliate marketing.
A year ago, I had never heard of affiliate marketing. I didn’t have time to take a second job, so I needed something that I could do at my own pace, whenever I had extra time. The various ways to make money online seemed to me to hold the best possibilities.
You could make money taking surveys online, and my wife tried that for a little while. Most of the surveys told her that she didn’t qualify after she had spent time answering some of the questions. The ones that she was able to finish didn’t pay until she had made enough money to reach a payment threshold. That didn’t happen. I don’t recommend the survey route to making extra money.
My Solution
After a lot of research, I found what I was looking for. It’s affiliate marketing, internet marketing, or IM. In a nutshell, you act as the advertiser for various merchants. This is usually through articles posted free of charge on the internet, through websites of your own creation, or through pay-per-click advertising, or PPC. To make things even better, many of the methods are either free or fairly inexpensive. That’s a winning combination. Where else can you start a business so cheaply. I found that almost every company that has a website has an affiliate program, and that there were people making money driving traffic to the merchant websites for years. I never knew this was happening. There are affiliate programs for just about anything you can think of.
I also found that affiliate marketing has a rather steep learning curve. My first week left my mind spinning. Trust me, it gets better. I tried learning how to do it through the various free forums online, but I just couldn’t tie things together to make it work for me. I realized very quickly that I would need some sort of training program.

Why does this work well for school teachers?
School teachers usually can write reasonably well. I’m a music teacher, but I write well enough to make things work. You don’t need to be a great writer. You just need to be able to get your point across.
Also, you are probably good at persuading your students to follow you. This is a key part of advertising. Most teachers are very good at the art of persuasion.
You don’t need to be a teacher to be successful in Affiliate Marketing, but it definitely helps.
How much time does it take?
I know, you’re busy…especially during the school year. That’s the great thing about marketing. You do it on your own time. It’s only as busy as you want it to be.
The great thing about internet marketing is that the internet never closes. It’s really fun to wake up in the morning and learn that you earned money while you slept. I spend time in the evenings or weekends working on IM, but the summertime is my most productive time of the year.
The neat thing about it is that it keeps earning once you’ve done the major part of the work. You will probably want to tweak things occasionally, but many of the campaigns you create will sort of run on autopilot. They will just need the occasional bumping to keep them earning.
If you’re new to internet marketing, give it a shot. The cardinal rule of internet marketing seems to be to take action. Don’t just sit there and read about. Do something. Give One Week Marketing a shot.
